Growing Food, Farms and Community

Saturday 3 March, 2012

Sanborn Regional High School, Kingston, NH

17 Danville Road, Kingston, NH  03848

The Winter Conference is the premiere gathering of New Hampshire's organic food and agriculture community; where farmers, gardeners, herbalists, organic landcare specialists, permaculturalists, localvores, educators, activists and consumers of food, join together.

Keynote Speaker

This year our Keynote Speaker is Frances Moore Lappe’ author of 18 books including "Diet for a Small Planet’ and co-founder of three organizations including Food First: The Institute for Food and Development Policy and, more recently, the Small Planet Institute, a collaborative network for research and popular education. see bio

NE SARE logo Funds for Frances Moore Lappe's program were provided by a NE SARE Grant.

SARE's mission is to advance—to the whole of American agriculture—innovations that improve profitability, stewardship and quality of life by investing in groundbreaking research and education.

Workshops

Please join us for over 40 workshops - including some led by teens - and programs for Youth and Children. This year, herbalists from the NOFA-NH Herbal Network will be leading several of the sessions, and the Beginner Organic Farmer Program is back as well. Workshop Schedule (confirmed to date)

Beginner Farmer Scholarships
Beginner farmer scholarships are available for farmers with fewer than 10 years experience. Click here for more information!

Green Market Fair

Plan on strolling through the popular Green Market Fair where vendors and a farmers' market offer all things green and organic. For the first time, there will also be educational presentations in the Green Market Fair.

Potluck Luncheon

Once again you can participate in our delicious potluck lunch. Bring a dish for eight to share, or you can purchase a plate. Try to include as many organic and local foods as you can and be sure to list the ingredients in your dish and if it is meat, vegetarian, vegan, sugar-free or gluten-free.

Support the Conference

The conference runs on contributions - time, money, energy, enthusiasm, commitment, humor, and more.  If you love local organic food and want to contribute as well as attend, you can also exhibit, sponsor, advertise, or volunteer

If you need more information, would like to register, have any questions, or would like to volunteer Contact: Winter Conference Coordinator. Email: WinterConference@nofaNH.org or call jo Russavage on 508.330.1034 (cell)
