Thank you to everyone who attended the Winter Conference and helped make this year’s  conference great! We appreciate the hard work of all our presenters, vendors, advertisers, volunteers and staff. Special thanks to our Sponsors and donors who help support this event year after year.

The Winter Conference is our largest fundraising event of the year and allows us to continue our mission of educating about the benefits of sustainable agriculture and organic food. Your support is important to all of us!

About the Winter Conference

Food is an important part of human culture and heritage and essential to our existence, yet much of what we eat comes from large systems that are increasingly challenged by environmental and economic conditions, energy constraints and health concerns.  NOFA-NH and its members choose to focus on the positive – cultivating the resilience and health of New Hampshire’s local food system.

In that spirit, this year’s Winter Conference theme was Resilience/Growing a Resilient Community.  This year, for the first time ever, NOFA-NH’s Winter Conference included a Farmer Intensive on March 1st, packed with 3 hour intensive workshops on growing grain, marketing, improving  soil for vegetable and forage production, analyzing cash flow, creating a seasonal budget, effectively designing and utilizing high tunnels for optimal return, and tractor maintenance.

Beginner Farmer Mixer: After the Intensive, there was a Beginner Farmer Mixer at Prescott Farm in Laconia, NH, where farmers, both beginners and mentors networked and connected. The mixer was co-sponsored by The Greenhorns, a national young farmer promotion and advocacy group.

Winter Conference Workshops, Potluck and Green Market Fair: The Winter Conference is our largest Organic Agricultural education event of the year, with over 40 workshops geared toward all levels and interest in farming, gardening, land care, herbs, food production, farm planning and more. The Potluck lunch features organic and local food, made fresh by our community of participants. The Green Market Fair features information on organic and environmental programs throughout the state as well as local exhibitors, farmers, and eco-friendly businesses.
